Somewhere, Your Animal Is Waiting.
GWARP connects survivors from Azerbaijan and partner rescues with safe homes in the United States and Canada.
A Long Journey. A Lifelong Promise.
Local adoption in Azerbaijan is extremely limited, so many animals must travel abroad to find homes. GWARP prepares every animal, arranges safe transportation, and supports adopters through the process.
Dogs may arrive through major airports across the United States. Cats typically arrive through Chicago. Canadian arrivals depend on available routes and flight volunteers. The team confirms the plan for each animal and family.
How Does International Adoption Work?
Thoughtful matching. No shortcuts.
- Apply Tell us about your home, lifestyle, experience, and the animal you hope to meet.
- Talk and meet Our team follows up, answers questions, and arranges a virtual or in-person meeting when possible.
- Home check A simple video home visit helps us confirm the environment and make the right match.
- Welcome them home Approved adopters sign a lifelong-care contract and GWARP coordinates the next safe step.
“If an animal ever needs to be rehomed, they come back to us. Once a GWARP animal, always a GWARP animal.”
A Real Conversation, Not an Automated Decision.
- Application review A volunteer reviews your answers and the animal you are interested in.
- Conversation The team follows up, discusses the match, and gives you a candid picture of the animal.
- Video home check A non-invasive virtual walk-through confirms the home is safe and your application is accurate.
- Approval and contract Approved families sign the adoption agreement before the animal is placed or travels.
International adoption fees can be as high as $2,000 USD because of veterinary preparation, documentation, crates, and air transport. Each animal’s profile lists the applicable fee.
Important:
A Foster Home Can Save a Life.
Opening your home temporarily creates space for another rescue and gives an animal the safety they need while a permanent family is found.
