Meet Sheera! A brilliant, affectionate Husky with a big personality and an even bigger heart.
Sheera is a 4 year old, 45 lb Husky who is incredibly intelligent, highly treat-motivated, and learning at lightning speed. Her foster family says, "She is the fifth husky our family has fostered and by far the smartest!" She already knows sit, wait, and look at me, and she thrives when she has structure and clear expectations. She's also a total love bug. Sheera wants to be near her people, loves attention, and is deeply devoted to her pack. She's wonderful on walks and does beautifully around other dogs while out and about.
Sheera comes from an unfortunate background. She was surrendered to an open intake municipal shelter because her family couldn't manage a skin condition, and sadly she went onto the shelter's at-risk euthanasia list. So, she sat there in the shelter, waiting for her forever home, only to be met with a deadline. When we saw her sweet face, we had to jump in and pull her. A loyal foster family who has helped us with a few different dogs jumped at the opportunity to give her a new chance at life. Her skin has healed beautifully! She's gaining weight with the right diet and care, eating a carefully managed diet and taking supplements to help keep her healthy.
To keep her happy and content, Sheera thrives on a structured routine that includes two 45-minute walks a day alongside a 30-minute exercise session for running, fetching, or playing. She is fantastic at pacing herself, though; during quiet hours, she happily hangs out on her bed or sits on the deck watching the squirrels. For afternoon entertainment, she loves working on chew toys or enjoying frozen treats like banana slices frozen in water.
She's smart, affectionate, eager to learn, incredibly devoted, and constantly making progress. She just needs someone who will meet her where she is, give her structure without overwhelming her, and help her continue becoming the confident, happy Husky she's meant to be.
Sheera is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a family willing to see the amazing dog underneath the rough start.
